We have have three Seed of Hope technical training and business skills centres in Kenya. These are in Nairobi, Kitui and Murang’a. Courses are free and open to 14-25 year olds.
We have different technical vocational training courses available in the different centres, shown below. These courses begin in January and July. Students participate in closely supervised apprenticeships whilst preparing for the Grade III Government Trade Test which are held every year. The exam registration is with National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). Registration fee for Artisan Grade III is currently 5,000Ksh. The booking period for exams is between Jan-Jul each year and the testing is in December.
Our short course in Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy and IT skills is taught in all 3 centres. Courses begin every 2 months.
TVETA
Our Seed of Hope centre in Kangweni, Kitui is registered and licensed with TVETA (Technical and Vocational Education Training Authority) TVETA/PRIVATE/VTC/0016/2020. We are undergoing registration for our Seed of Hope centres in Nairobi and Kariti, Murang’a but they all follow curriculums in line with TVETA and NITA recommendations.

essential computer skills course
We will be introducing a new low-cost Essential Computer Skills course for any members of the community to join. Classes will be for an hour a day (weekdays) and will run for 4 weeks. Teaching you everything you need to know to get started with using computers. We’ll update here with more information when they are due to start.
free extra support
Everyone enrolled on a technical vocational course will also benefit from access to free counselling, a cooked lunch when learning on-site, menstrual hygiene packs for girls, limited numbers of childcare vouchers to support young parents and weekly life skills sessions which cover topics such as; wellbeing, nutrition, healthy relationships, gender equality, knowing your rights and how to assert them, menstrual and reproductive health etc.
financial literacy & business skills
Everyone enrolled on a technical vocational course will also have lessons on financial literacy and business skills so you have all of the skills and knowledge needed to secure employment or start a small business.
Families of students are also invited to a family training day on financial literacy.
